Hello? Is anyone there?
It’s me! I’m alive.
I kid. I am alive, all the way. I’ve been struggling health wise, lately. After months of feeling fatigued, sore, and just generally awful, I finally was diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
For anyone who has ever had it, I can see your cringing. I’m cringing with you.
To those who haven’t had it–It ain’t fun. Like, super not fun. The best way I can describe it, at least for myself, is so: imagine having the flu. And I mean, you caught the mother of all flus’. Your body aches, you can’t get out of bed. You generally feel like a giant pile of poop. Still with me?
NOW. Imagine you get said flu, but it doesn’t go away. You feel like said pile of poop all. the. time. That’s pretty much been this gal for the past couple of months. So you can imagine why I haven’t been around the last month or so, but I’ll still apologize for it.
Truth be told, I just haven’t had the energy. Some days, I can’t even drag myself out of bed. But I’m on the mend, and if all goes well, I should be feeling better within the next few weeks.
In terms of the ol’ stead, things are going well! I brought six baby chicks to the homestead last month, and they’re growing nicely and eating me out of house and home. Also, they’re messy and one in particular tries to escape the brooder on the daily. But other than that, all is well, and for that I am grateful.
I’ve been using the Brinsea EcoGlow 20 Brooder, and I have to say, I LOVE it! Once the chicks have grown out of needing it, I’m going to get a few ducklings. Homegirl needs some baby ducks in her life!
Most of the seedlings I’ve started are doing well–I did end up having to get rid of some that were getting too leggy to save. I threw them to the girls’ and they loved the green treat. Especially considering they’re a little bent out of shape that we’ve had snow three times in the last two weeks.
All in all, life is good. And I promise I’ll be posting more regularly as I start to recover. Thank you to everyone who has continued to check into my little corner of the universe–I appreciate it more than you know.
Keep it real, ya’ll!
